About the Project

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology platform focused on helping college athletes and school administrators manage their earnings, payments, and financial well-being. The platform combines financial tools, educational resources, and compliance solutions to empower users with the knowledge and control needed for long-term success both on and off the field.

As part of this engagement, you will be working with KahnIT, a professional services company providing software development and team augmentation to the client. You’ll collaborate directly with stakeholders from the client’s team as well as KahnIT’s engineers, designers, and product leaders.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Flutter Engineer to help design and build the mobile experience for student-athletes. The app serves as a “business manager in your pocket,” helping athletes navigate LLC formation, tax filing, budgeting, savings, contract organization, and access to modern financial tools like credit builders and virtual wallets—while also building financial literacy.

You will work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features across iOS and Android platforms. This is a 100% remote contract role, with competitive hourly compensation based on experience and technical leadership

Your Responsibilities

Design, architect, and implement scalable mobile features using Flutter and Dart.
Build mission-critical functionality such as payment tracking, financial planning tools, document storage, and identity verification.
Integrate with REST APIs and third-party SDKs (e.g., Plaid, identity verification providers).
Ensure high performance, smooth animations, and responsive experiences across devices.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code using modern development practices.
Participate in and lead code reviews, mentoring other engineers when needed.
Collaborate with product managers to define and refine requirements.
Work with designers to deliver pixel-perfect, accessible UI/UX.
Ensure app quality across both App Store and Play Store, including version control, feature flags, and release management.
Implement analytics, monitoring, and crash reporting for production visibility.
Uphold strong standards for data security and user privacy in all features.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in mobile development, including at least 2 years with Flutter.
Solid grasp of mobile architecture, state management (e.g., Riverpod, Bloc, Provider), and scalable app design.
Experience delivering polished features in consumer-facing apps with a focus on performance and usability.
Familiarity with app store guidelines, release cycles, and maintaining multi-platform compatibility.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Must be located in or aligned with time zones of the United States (USA-based or Latin America strongly preferred).

Nice To Have

Experience in FinTech, EdTech, or working with financial APIs like Plaid or Stripe.

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and mobile DevOps workflows.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and depth of Flutter expertise.
• This is a contractor position – candidates must be legally able to work directly with a U.S. company.
