About the Project

Our client is a fast-growing financial technology platform focused on helping college athletes and school administrators manage their earnings, payments, and financial well-being. The platform combines financial tools, educational resources, and compliance solutions to empower users with the knowledge and control needed for long-term success both on and off the field.

As part of this engagement, you will be working with KahnIT, a professional services company providing software development and team augmentation to the client. You’ll collaborate directly with stakeholders from the client’s team as well as KahnIT’s engineering and DevOps experts.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Product Owner / Project Manager to lead product development efforts across our client’s mobile platforms, with a primary focus on the Athlete mobile experience. You will serve as the bridge between engineering, customer support, and end users, ensuring effective communication and successful delivery of features that make a real impact.You must be based in the Contiguous United States and be willing to travel occasionally to Los Angeles, CA for on-site meetings and workshops.

Your Responsibilities

Own the product lifecycle for mobile apps on iOS and Android.
Translate business and user needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
Act as the primary liaison between technical teams (developers, DevOps, QA) and non-technical stakeholders (support team, business users).
Manage and prioritize the product backlog; plan and lead sprint ceremonies.
Oversee mobile app deployment workflows and ensure compliance with Apple App Store and Google Play Market submission guidelines.
Collect and analyze user feedback, app analytics, and QA reports to drive continuous improvement.
Align product priorities with stakeholder expectations and ensure deadlines are met.
Facilitate communication, documentation, and visibility of progress across all teams.

Requirements

Must reside in the Contiguous United States and be able to travel to Los Angeles when needed.
5+ years of experience in product ownership, product management, or technical project management.
Proven experience managing mobile applications, including a strong understanding of app store requirements, approval processes, and release cycles.
Ability to communicate fluently with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with Agile practices, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stakeholder management.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience with tools like Linear, Notion, and Figma.

Nice To Have

Background in FinTech, EdTech, or SportsTech.
Passion for financial literacy and technology with social impact.
Experience conducting user interviews or interpreting user behavior metrics.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate, based on experience and scope of responsibilities.
This is a contractor position – candidates must be legally able to work directly with a U.S. company.
